Check before asking 'What TV, Speakers, Subs fit blah blah'. A Sticky post may also exist helping with buying decisions. Hey guys,I am helping someone setup a 4 projector system (Ricoh WX4141n). They have a NVIDIA Quardro K5000 on their hands but that is about all they got in terms of resources. Do you know of any affordable edge blending and web cam calibrating software to blend these 4 projectors together?We explored VIOSO ($4000 wow.), Warpalizer (won't install), and NTHUSISM (didn't work, also the build may be used in commercial so a moral issue, also their parent company software probably doesn't work either).You guys have any software you recommend or currently use?. The easiest way to do this is to use a nvidia quadro card (K5000 for sure will work, I've set up multiple sites using these exact cards), and a projector that supports internal edge blending, so you don't have to use any additional software.
Scalable Edge Blending Software
If the later isn't within scope for whatever reason, than you'll need something external to manipulate the image (mostly just brightness at this point, since a lot can be done in the nvidia settings).I've used multiple types with great success, projection design's warp/blend box (now Barco), christie digital's internal, scalable display, and a couple others. Bottom line is they aren't cheap. I haven't used any of what you've mentioned. Osx86 8f1111 with wesley patches. Nvidia mosaic let's you do overlap, this will create hotspotting where the two projectors overlap, however that's what the internal settings for the projector can compensate for.You overlap the projectors your set amount, then use nvidia utility to tell it you've overlapped 'x' pixels.
Matrox Edge Blending Software
I prefer to use the nvidia command line utility, so I can just create a batch file to run in case it ever breaks, and I need to reapply the mosaic settings. (PS, don't look for documentation on the command line utility, it doesn't really exist). Once you're in mosaic, you can put whatever you want wherever you want, they are seen as one logical desktop. You can arrange things however you want to, just like on the monitor in front of you.
What I've done in the past for that type of thing is make a pixel for pixel desktop background, putting the logos you want to use in that background image. Making it pixel for pixel let's you precisely place them, without any scaling/stretching. If you do this, be sure to calculate the overlap in your edge blended areas, as that overlap decreases your overall pixel count.
